On the weekend of Saturday, October 26th and Sunday, October 27th, members of the Digi60 team visited the sets of three 60-challenge participating crews to document the filmmakers in action.

From this modest pool alone, it’s clear the films will feature as much range and variety as the different team dynamics themselves: from an auditorium focused on ad lib performances, to a husband and wife kitchen combo with stand-in supporters, each one presented a different atmosphere and approach to filmmaking that’ll be a treat to see come to fruition.

Our practicum intern Brian Edgar did a fantastic job interviewing the directors and filming behind-the-scenes as production was underway, too, and the distinctiveness of each set gave him ample opportunities to get creative with how he documented the proceedings.

“Capturing the unique approaches of different independent filmmakers working with the same theme was a really cool experience. While also testing my own abilities as an amateur videographer and trying to capture as much as possible of each production, seeing teams work together to overcome challenges on set and realize their vision was pretty inspiring—and fun! I’m looking forward to seeing their
completed projects at the festival.” - Brian Edgar, Practicum Intern

Brian’s hard at work putting together the BTS videos, but in the meantime we have a few photos to share with you. We hope you look forward to seeing what he assembles for this BTS project, as well as the films these directors are producing now that you have a little sneak peek into their development. Stay tuned, filmmakers!
