The Craft & Art of Cinematography
with Matthew A. MacDonald
Time: 9:00-11:00 am
Location: SAW Video Training Space
sold out!
The craft of cinematography is the practice of crafting moving images using light, shadow, colour, composition, and movement. The art of cinematography is the process of applying this craft to make people feel something, to represent a feeling through moving images. With that in mind, attendees can expect to learn more about the critical importance of lighting and composition in any motion picture, and how even the seemingly smallest lighting or compositional decisions can have a profound impact.
This workshop will be of particular interest to those who want to learn some useful principles of cinematography that they can apply to their own work, and things to look for when trying to improve their lighting and composition. Attendees should come away from it with a much deeper appreciation for the art and craft of cinematography.
