Conor DeVries - The Legend of Ismael LBG (06:10) Documentary
A short documentary film following alongside local Ottawa legend, Ismael LBG.
Cheryl Pagurek - here and there, now and then (07:11) Experimental
While interacting with Cheryl Pagurek’s States of Being video and sound installation, dancers Rion Taylor and Wyeth Walker move fluidly through space and time. They traverse public and private locations, inhabit physical and virtual realms, and explore connections and relationships between the past, the present and an uncertain future. Their movements unite black and white film footage with contemporary video recordings, while building a compelling soundscape with composer Jesse Stewart's music. Imagery of daily life gives way to hot and swirling climate maps, forging a continuum between here, there, now, and then. States of Being reimagines expressive self-representation in the internet age. The interactive installation’s video and music components are mapped spatially to respond to peoples’ movements. Instead of the online identities that we craft and perform via social media platforms, avatars, and video calls, States of Being offers an alternative, experiential and experimental mode to enact virtual creations of ourselves. Straddling both real and digital worlds, the installation expands the artistic potential of interactivity by inviting dancers and the public to engage with it.
Nicole Blundell - Correspondence-danse (03:37) Experimental
Le système postal est plus qu'un simple moyen de transport ; pour ces deux cinéastes, il devient un conduit par lequel ils ont forgé un lien, tissé une tapisserie et créé Correspondence-dance. Avec chaque envoi par la poste d'une caméra et d'un film 8 mm, ils insufflent à l'œuvre leurs perspectives et pratiques individuelles, ce qui leur permet de transcender les frontières géographiques et les barrières linguistiques pour co-créer quelque chose qui relie les Deux solitudes. The postal system serves as more than just a means of transportation; for these two filmmakers it becomes a conduit through which they forged a connection, weaved a tapestry and created Correspondence-dance. With each shipment by mail of both camera and 8mm film, they infuse the work with their individual perspectives and practices allowing them to transcend geographical boundaries and language barriers to blindly co-create something that links the Two Solitudes. A love-letter to Iranian noses, 'Good Nose', a CBC Creator Network short doc, explores how Iran became a global hub of cosmetic nose surgery.
Told through Nickie Shobeiry's personal story — a second-gen Iranian with a proudly ‘bumpy’ Persian nose — the doc includes subjects like Samin Nosrat, NYT best-selling author and creator of Netflix's 'Salt Fat Acid Heat', and Maz Jobrani, actor, comedian and regular on the late-show circuit (be it with Colbert or Corden).

Madelyn Keys - 2 Triangles in Square City (02:39) Experimental
2 Triangles in Square City stars two right-angle triangles that disguise themselves as squares to live in Square City. After tripping in the street, the triangles are discovered and banished to the forest, where they attempt to create a home for themselves. Late one night, they notice a strange glowing Orb above their shelter. The triangles retrieve the Orb and create a home, the right shape for them all.

"death isn't the same anymore" is a layered, experimental, visual and auditory cinepoem, which explores the intimate relationship humans have with their beds, and the cyclical nature of life between birth and death.
