Max McGuire

Feature film director Max McGuire sits down in an intimate conversation with registered filmmakers about their films screened at Digi60. He reviews jury notes and commentary while asking questions and providing concise and constructive feedback to the filmmaker. This constructive workshop has been a hit for several years and isn’t to be missed for new and emerging filmmakers who want to grow and improve their filmmaking. This a great opportunity to get insight from one of Ottawa’s busiest directors!

IMPORTANT: This is an in-person workshop for Registered Filmmakers only, with a maximum of 8 participants.

As a writer and director, Max's projects have been financed or distributed by; Netflix, Bron Studios, Telefilm Canada, Ontario Media Development Corp, Hallmark, Lifetime, CBC tv, UPtv, Canada Council for the Arts, the Harold Greenberg Fund, and a number of other private international distributors.

Foreverland, his most personal movie, was produced by Bron Studios and Screen Siren Media. It was distributed theatrically by Eone and sold around the world. It stars Max Thieriot (Seal Team/Bates Motel), Laurence Leboeuf (Transplant), and Oscar nominees Juliette Lewis (Cape Fear) and Demian Bichir (The Bridge) along with Sarah Wayne Callies, Matt Frewer, and Thomas Dekker. Max toured the world with the film and helped raised over $200,000.00 for cystic fibrosis research through screenings.

Max has directed numerous holiday movies and independent thrillers including Midnight at the Magnolia (a Canadian Screen Award nominee for best TV movie) starring Natalie Hall and Evan Williams for Netflix, where it was a TOP 10 worldwide most watched movie over the holiday season.

Max is actively developing "Wounded", a wilderness thriller that was invited to the International Film Finance Forum at TIFF and the IFP No Borders Market in New York with development funding from the OMDC and Telefilm Canada.
