Karen Magee
Content Development - Eastern Canada, AMI-tv
Karen joined AMI-tv in 2012 overseeing the Ottawa office. She is now responsible for content development for Canada East and has developed several shows for AMI including Mind Your Own Business, The Squeaky Wheel and Got Game.
Karen is responsible for screening pitches, show development, and ensuring that all content meets AMI’s standard bearing qualities with respect to disability storytelling and inclusivity in all areas of original production – both on camera and behind the scenes.
Karen has over 30 years of production experience, having previously worked at Rogers TV and Ross Video.
Dave Brown
Broadcaster & Journalist, AMI-tv
Dave Brown has been in the broadcast industry for over 15 years.
In that time, he has worked for AMI, CBC, and Shaw.
Dave has experience on and off the air. He’s had the opportunity to host live shows, documentaries, and features. He’s also done behind the scenes production and development.
Dave has a passion for all things media as a creator and consumer. He takes great pride in being a media personality with a disability.
He was born legally blind and has albinism.
Dave is currently developing a new show for AMI TV.
Élise Beaudry-Ferland
Producer, Prairie Cat Productions
Élise is a graduate of the University of Regina Film and Video program and is now a producer at Prairie Cat Productions Inc. She has produced work for Telefilm, the Accessibility Network, SK Arts, Canada Council for the Arts, SGI, Safer Roads Canada, and CBC. Élise co-produced the documentary Humboldt: The New Season, which premiered August 2019 on CBC and was nominated for Best Documentary Program at the 2020 Canadian Screen Awards.
In 2022, Élise co-produced the short film Pen Pals, which is now playing at multiple festivals internationally. She has also served as an event organizer as well as festival director and coordinator at film festivals such as the Regina International Film Festival.
