Digi60 opened the door for Hingman to explore narrative filmmaking. Join Hingman as she recounts her journey from the first screening of her film as a community submission in 2017 to placing as a finalist in 2021 at CBC's Short Film Face Off! She will share some reflections and lessons learned along the way.
This is an interactive discussion and we encourage emerging filmmakers who may be on an untraditional path to join in!

Biography
Hingman is a multi-award winner at the 2020 Digi60 Filmmakers' Festival, including: Best Director, Best Film, and the DARC Emerging Experimental Filmmaker awards for her film Curbside Pickup. Curbside Pickup was also selected for the CBC Short Film Faceoff and was an official selection at the 2021 Inside Out Festival. She is the co-founder of Firegrove Studio, the first all Women-of-Colour full service content creation & production company based in unceded Algonquin Territory, and their feature documentary I Am: Limitless recently aired on CBC and CBC Gem.
