In this fifth episode of Wallbreakers, we speak with Ottawa-based visual artist and filmmaker Aicha Lasfar.

Aicha’s French-Canadian and Muslim culture illustrates her background in visual art and pyrography.

This has led her to the world of filmmaking, where she explores her creative identity through this visual medium and was given a microgrant by Digi60 for BIPOC and Francophone filmmakers for her film, “On Y Est”.

In this episode, Aisha shares her experiences with womanhood and how we can maximize personal experiences in shaping one's technical visual film style.

What is WALLBREAKERS?

From one emerging creative to another, the biggest creative block is breaking into a competitive industry. How can we break down those walls and root stable foundation for our passion?

Here at Wallbreakers, we sit down with Canadian artists to chat about the challenges they face in establishing a creative career and advice they have for those who have yet to embark on this journey.
